Responsibilities
- Lead Weekend Financial Close: Direct the preparation and posting of journal entries to ensure the monthly and weekly financial statements are accurate and timely.
- Reconciliation Specialist: Perform complex bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Financial Reporting: Generate and analyze financial reports, variance analyses, and operational metrics for management review on weekends.
- Compliance & Audit: Ensure all accounting activities adhere to GAAP standards and internal control procedures during off-peak hours.
- Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in weekend workflows and implement solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the week-day finance team to transition data and resolve urgent financial matters.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong understanding of financial reporting and reconciliation.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
- Schedule Availability: Must be available to work every Saturday and Sunday on a rotating schedule.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
