Responsibilities
- Manage the Month-End Close: Oversee the general ledger, ensure accurate and timely closing of monthly books, and prepare necessary journal entries.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, for management and external stakeholders.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Monitor cash flow, reconcile bank statements, and manage the AR/AP processes to ensure liquidity and vendor satisfaction.
- Compliance & Auditing: Ensure all financial records comply with federal and state regulations and assist in external audits.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and improve efficiency.
- Tax Preparation: Assist in the preparation of annual tax returns and ensure proper documentation for tax filings.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; CPA certification is a strong plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in general accounting or financial reporting.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or SAP.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-finance staff.
- Urgency: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
