Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, balance sheets, and profit & loss reports to support executive decision-making.
- Assist with the annual budgeting process and provide variance analysis to forecast future financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial laws and regulations, including tax preparation and filing.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts monthly, resolving any discrepancies immediately.
- Collaborate with the external audit team to provide necessary documentation and support during audits.
- Optimize internal financial processes and implement best practices for remote accounting workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree or CPA/CMA certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, preferably within a remote or hybrid environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, Macros).
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal control structures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote setting with a high degree of self-motivation and time management.
- Ability to pass a background check and maintain data confidentiality at all times.
