Job Overview
As our Bookkeeper, you will be the backbone of our financial operations. You will ensure our clients' financial records are accurate, up-to-date, and fully compliant with regulatory standards. This is a high-impact role requiring a proactive approach to data management and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Account Management: Manage day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Reconciliation: Perform monthly and quarterly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and detect discrepancies.
- Payroll Processing: Process payroll for multiple employees accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain financial statements, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
- Tax Support: Assist the accounting team in preparing year-end tax documents and maintaining compliance schedules.
- Expense Tracking: Monitor and categorize expenses to ensure proper budget adherence.
- Software Management: Maintain and update accounting software, ensuring data integrity and security.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of professional bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Software Proficiency: Must be proficient in QuickBooks Online (preferred) or Xero, and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Bachelor's degree is a plus.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors and manage complex data sets with precision.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for client interactions.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with GAAP and Illinois state tax regulations.
