Responsibilities
- Manage Day-to-Day Bookkeeping: Handle daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring all entries are accurate and recorded promptly.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure all financial records match bank statements and identify discrepancies.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain general ledger accounts, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets.
- Payroll Management: Assist with processing payroll, ensuring all tax filings and compliance requirements are met.
- Compliance & Audits: Maintain organized financial records and prepare necessary documentation for audits and tax purposes.
- Invoicing: Generate and send invoices to clients and vendors in a timely manner.
- Expense Tracking: Monitor and categorize business expenses to help control costs.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of professional bookkeeping experience in a corporate or accounting firm setting.
- Software Proficiency: Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online or Xero is required. Experience with Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) is a plus.
- Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred; High school diploma equivalent with relevant certifications (e.g., NACPB) is acceptable.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors and maintain high levels of accuracy in data entry.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client interactions.
- Knowledge: Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and basic tax laws.
