Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to oversee the payroll operations for a diverse client base. The ideal candidate is a numbers-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and values accuracy above all else.
Responsibilities
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for over 200 employees using ADP Workforce Now, ensuring 100% accuracy.
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local payroll tax returns, including W-2s and 1099s, by strict deadlines.
- Manage garnishments, child support orders, and deductions in compliance with legal requirements.
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies efficiently and professionally.
- Reconcile payroll bank accounts and prepare monthly journal entries for payroll expenses.
- Collaborate with the HR department to update employee records, salary changes, and tax documentation.
- Conduct audits of payroll data to identify and mitigate risks.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in a high-volume environment.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll tax laws, regulations, and compliance standards.
- Proficiency in payroll software such as ADP, Paychex, or QuickBooks Payroll.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive financial data.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff and management.
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Human Resources is preferred; equivalent experience is accepted.
