Responsibilities
- Prepare and Review: Prepare individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns ensuring accuracy and timely filing.
- Client Communication: Interact directly with clients to gather necessary financial information and explain complex tax concepts in a clear manner.
- Compliance: Stay updated on federal, state, and local tax laws to ensure full compliance and advise on regulatory changes.
- Bookkeeping Support: Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and financial statement preparation.
- Research: Conduct tax research to resolve complex tax issues and support tax planning initiatives.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with senior accountants and managers to deliver high-quality client service.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation required; Master’s degree (CPA/EA preferred).
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in public accounting or tax preparation.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in tax software (e.g., Drake, UltraTax, Lacerte) and accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks).
- Excel Skills: Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse clients.
