The Role:
As a Tax Associate, you will be the backbone of our tax department, ensuring our clients receive accurate and timely filings. You will work closely with senior accountants to navigate complex tax regulations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns (Form 1040, 1120, 1065).
- Analyze financial data to ensure compliance with federal and state tax laws.
- Assist senior staff with tax planning and tax research projects.
- Prepare supporting schedules and footnotes for complex tax returns.
- Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary documentation and resolve inquiries.
- Manage tight deadlines during the tax season effectively.
- Maintain accurate records and client files in the accounting system.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in tax preparation or public accounting is highly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and tax code regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Familiarity with tax preparation software (e.g., Lacerte, ProSeries, Drake) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
