Responsibilities
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns (Forms 1040, 1120, 1120-S, etc.) with a high degree of accuracy.
- Analyze complex financial data to identify tax savings opportunities and ensure full compliance with regulations.
- Conduct tax research to interpret changing tax laws and advise clients accordingly.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding tax inquiries, documentation requests, and audit preparations.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules for audits.
- Utilize tax software (e.g., ProSeries, Drake) efficiently to manage large caseloads during peak season.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation (Master’s degree or CPA/EA certification is highly preferred).
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in tax preparation or public accounting is a plus.
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially advanced Excel functions.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines during tax season.
