Responsibilities
- Prepare and File Tax Returns: Accurately prepare individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns using industry-standard software such as ProSeries and Drake Tax.
- Client Consultation: Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary documentation, explain complex tax concepts, and provide strategic tax planning advice.
- Compliance Management: Ensure all filings adhere to federal, state, and local tax regulations and internal quality control standards.
- Account Reconciliation: Perform reconciliation of financial statements, bank accounts, and credit card statements to ensure data integrity.
- Record Keeping: Maintain organized and up-to-date client files, including digital and physical records of all tax documents.
- Team Collaboration: Assist senior staff with special projects, tax research, and year-end close processes.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master’s degree or CPA candidate status is a plus.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in tax preparation, public accounting, or corporate tax environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in tax preparation software (e.g., ProSeries, Lacerte, Drake) and strong Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors and ensure precision in high-volume data entry.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse clients.
