We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Tax Associate to join our growing team in Boston, MA. This is an Immediate Hire opportunity for a motivated professional ready to make an impact in public accounting.
As a Tax Associate, you will play a crucial role in our tax department, assisting with the preparation and review of various tax returns while ensuring strict compliance with regulatory standards. You will work closely with senior staff and partners to deliver high-quality results to our diverse clientele.
Responsibilities
- Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, and fiduciary income tax returns.
- Conduct in-depth tax research and analysis to support complex client scenarios.
- Assist in the preparation of state and local (SALT) tax returns and projections.
- Review workpapers for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to firm policies.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding tax status, filing deadlines, and inquiries.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current tax laws and regulatory changes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of relevant tax experience (internships and recent graduates are encouraged to apply).
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification is preferred.
- Strong understanding of federal and state tax codes and regulations.
- Proficiency in tax software (e.g., ProSystem fx, CCH IntelliTax) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
