Responsibilities
- Prepare and file federal and state individual and business income tax returns (Form 1040, 1120, 1065).
- Assist clients with the collection of necessary tax documents and financial records.
- Communicate effectively with clients to explain tax situations and provide advice.
- Utilize tax preparation software (e.g., Lacerte, ProSeries, or Drake) to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Perform basic bookkeeping tasks, including bank reconciliations and accounts payable/receivable.
- Stay updated on current tax laws and regulations to ensure full compliance.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Previous experience in tax preparation, accounting, or bookkeeping is preferred.
- Must be available for part-time hours during tax season and potentially off-season.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
