Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax filings and year-end audits.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations and internal policies.
- Process payroll and expense reports accurately and on time.
- Collaborate with department heads to provide financial analysis and budget forecasting support.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong preference for remote work experience.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data clearly.
