Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for 500+ employees across multiple states
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations (FLSA, FICA, Michigan state laws)
- Oversee time and attendance systems, reconciling discrepancies and resolving employee inquiries
- Coordinate with HR and finance teams on payroll deductions, bonuses, and compensation adjustments
- Conduct payroll audits and implement process improvements for efficiency
- Prepare year-end reports (W-2s, 1099s) and support external audits
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of multi-state payroll processing experience
- Advanced proficiency in ADP Workforce Now or comparable HRIS systems
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred
- Expert knowledge of payroll tax laws and labor regulations
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience with union contracts and complex compensation structures
