Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive credit risk assessments on loan applications, including detailed analysis of financial statements, cash flow, and collateral.
- Prepare and maintain accurate credit files, reports, and memorandums for internal review and regulatory audits.
- Monitor the performance of existing loan portfolios to identify early warning signs of delinquency and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Conduct ratio analysis and industry benchmarking to evaluate borrower capacity and market conditions.
- Stay current on local, state, and federal banking regulations (e.g., BSA, CRA) to ensure full compliance.
- Collaborate with loan officers and management to structure deals that align with the bank's risk appetite and profitability goals.
- Utilize financial modeling software and advanced Excel functions to forecast borrower repayment ability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in credit analysis, commercial lending, or financial analysis.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros) and financial modeling.
- Excellent analytical skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for presenting complex data to stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently while meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with banking regulations and credit risk frameworks is highly preferred.
