Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough analysis of borrower financial statements, tax returns, and cash flow projections to assess creditworthiness.
- Evaluate loan applications against established credit policies and risk guidelines to determine approval, denial, or counter-offer status.
- Monitor and review existing credit relationships to identify early warning signs of financial distress or deteriorating credit quality.
- Prepare detailed credit memos and presentations for the Credit Committee or senior management approval.
- Collaborate with loan officers and relationship managers to understand borrower needs and provide strategic credit advice.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, economic conditions, and regulatory changes affecting the lending environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required; MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in credit analysis, commercial lending, or financial underwriting.
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling, Excel (advanced functions), and financial software.
- Deep understanding of credit risk assessment principles and underwriting guidelines.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present findings clearly.
