Responsibilities
- Perform daily bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable and receivable reconciliation.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
- Assist in the preparation of annual tax returns and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Process payroll and manage employee expense reports accurately and timely.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts to identify discrepancies.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes for department heads.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and filing systems.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in general accounting or bookkeeping.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and MS Excel (Advanced functions required).
- Familiarity with tax preparation software and local Virginia/New York tax laws.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote or hybrid environment.
