In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of financial data for our diverse client portfolio. You will play a key part in maintaining our reputation for financial excellence and compliance within the UK market.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full-cycle bookkeeping process, including sales and purchase ledgers, ensuring 100% accuracy.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts on a monthly basis to identify discrepancies.
- Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns in compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of year-end financial statements and audit schedules.
- Process payroll and ensure all statutory deductions are calculated correctly.
- Maintain and update fixed asset registers.
- Provide accurate financial reports to management to support decision-making.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar financial role (minimum 3 years).
- Strong working knowledge of UK GAAP and VAT legislation.
- Proficiency in accounting software, specifically Xero or Sage (Sage 50 preferred).
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Strong attention to detail and high level of organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, AAT) is highly desirable.
