Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping operations including accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations
- Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analysis for 15+ client portfolios
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing procedures with strict attention to deadlines
- Maintain and optimize QuickBooks Online databases for data accuracy and efficiency
- Collaborate with CPAs and tax professionals during audit and tax season
- Implement process improvements to streamline financial workflows
- Train junior staff on accounting software and best practices
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive bookkeeping experience with QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel with advanced formula knowledge
- Proven experience handling multi-entity accounting systems
- Strong understanding of GAAP and NJ state tax regulations
- Exceptional attention to detail with error rate <1% in reconciliations
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment with same-day turnaround requirements
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills for client reporting
