Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Process payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Maintain and update the general ledger using QuickBooks Online or Xero, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly.
- Prepare and generate monthly financial statements, including balance sheets and profit & loss statements.
- Assist with the preparation of annual tax returns and quarterly tax filings.
- Conduct regular audits of financial data to identify discrepancies and implement corrective measures.
- Collaborate with the finance team to improve financial reporting processes and workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional bookkeeping experience, preferably in a corporate or accounting firm setting.
- Proficient in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage) and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to detect errors in complex data sets.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
