We are currently seeking a highly motivated Tax Associate to join our growing team in Portland, Oregon. In this role, you will work under the mentorship of senior tax professionals to prepare federal and state tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance. We provide all necessary training, so no prior tax experience is required—just a drive to learn and excel.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual and business tax returns (Forms 1040, 1120, etc.) with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- Assist in tax planning and research to maximize client benefits while ensuring full compliance with IRS regulations.
- Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary documentation and explain complex tax concepts clearly.
- Utilize tax preparation software (e.g., Lacerte, ProSystem fxTax) to manage large volumes of data.
- Collaborate with the team to meet strict filing deadlines during the busy tax season.
- Maintain client files and ensure all records are organized and secure.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred (recent graduates welcome).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to pay close attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A professional demeanor and a willingness to undergo our paid training curriculum.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client sites (occasionally).
