Job Summary
As a Senior Bookkeeper, you will be the guardian of our clients' financial data. You will manage day-to-day financial operations, ensuring that records are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with regulatory standards. Your expertise will help drive the financial health of our diverse portfolio of clients.
Responsibilities
- Financial Management: Oversee the complete accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and accurate invoicing.
- Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations to ensure all accounts are balanced and discrepancies are resolved.
- Reporting: Prepare and maintain general ledger accounts, trial balances, and monthly financial statements for review by management.
- Payroll Support: Assist in the monthly payroll processing, ensuring all timesheets and tax filings are accurate and submitted on time.
- Compliance: Ensure all bookkeeping activities adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal control policies.
- Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries regarding financial statements and account status.
- Software Maintenance: Manage and update accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero) and maintain organized digital and physical records.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred; High school diploma required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in QuickBooks Online/Pro, Xero, or Sage; Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
- Knowledge: Solid understanding of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting structures.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional demeanor.
