In this role, you will play a pivotal part in maintaining our financial health, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards, and providing insightful financial reporting to leadership. You will work closely with our clients to streamline their accounting processes and drive business growth.
Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to support strategic decision-making.
- Process payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations (including Illinois specific requirements).
- Maintain and update the company's fixed asset register and perform periodic audits.
- Assist in the preparation of tax documents and collaborate with external auditors during year-end reviews.
- Utilize QuickBooks Online and Excel to manage data, generate reports, and identify trends or discrepancies.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of professional bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred; Associate degree or equivalent experience accepted.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks (desktop and online) and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups) is mandatory.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to detect errors and ensure 100% accuracy in data entry and reporting.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Ohio and Illinois tax laws and payroll regulations.
