We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join our growing finance team in the heart of New York City. Responsibilities
- Manage the full-cycle bookkeeping process, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts monthly with high accuracy.
- Prepare and post monthly financial statements, including Profit & Loss and Balance Sheets.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures and audits.
- Process payroll for all employees in compliance with local and federal regulations.
- Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and ensure adherence to GAAP standards.
- Prepare and file quarterly and annual sales tax returns.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional bookkeeping experience in a corporate environment.
- Certification as a CPA, CMA, or equivalent (e.g., NACPB) is preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, or NetSuite.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
