Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records for 15+ SME clients using Xero and Sage
- Process monthly payroll and reconcile bank accounts across multiple currencies
- Prepare VAT returns and manage HMRC compliance documentation
- Generate management accounts with variance analysis for executive review
- Lead month-end closing procedures and audit preparation
- Mentor junior bookkeepers on financial best practices
- Implement process improvements using automation tools
Qualifications
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years' bookkeeping practice in UK SME sector
- Expert proficiency in Xero, Sage 50, and Excel
- Proven track record of managing multi-currency accounts
- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and HMRC regulations
- Experience with payroll processing (RTI submissions)
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
