Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using Xero and QuickBooks
- Process monthly payroll and reconcile bank accounts
- Prepare VAT returns and manage HMRC submissions
- Generate financial statements and management reports
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable cycles
- Support audit preparations and tax compliance
- Train junior bookkeepers on financial systems
Qualifications
- Proven experience in full-cycle bookkeeping (3+ years)
- Advanced proficiency in Xero and QuickBooks
- Recognized accounting qualification (AAT/ACCA/CIMA)
- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and HMRC regulations
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Experience with payroll processing (RTI submissions)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
