Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end revenue cycle processes including charge entry, claim submission, and payment posting
- Resolve complex billing discrepancies and insurance rejections through proactive communication with payers
- Ensure HIPAA/FWA compliance and maintain accurate patient financial records
- Analyze aging reports to identify collection opportunities and reduce days in AR
- Train junior staff on billing protocols and system updates
- Collaborate with clinical departments to document charges accurately
- Prepare monthly billing performance metrics for leadership review
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of medical billing experience with commercial and government payers
- Proficiency in Epic, NextGen, or similar EHR billing systems
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) preferred
- Expert knowledge of CPT/HCPCS codes, ICD-10, and CMS guidelines
- Advanced Excel skills with VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and financial modeling
- Proven track record of reducing claim denial rates by 15%+
