Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end medical billing processes for 200+ patient accounts daily
- Resolve complex insurance claim denials and patient billing inquiries
- Analyze billing data to identify revenue leakage opportunities
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure accurate charge documentation
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant billing records and audit trails
- Implement process improvements to reduce AR days
- Train junior billing staff on best practices
- Prepare monthly billing performance reports
Qualifications
- 5+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Expertise in CPT/ICD-10 coding and insurance verification
- Proficiency with Epic or similar EHR billing modules
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Experience with AR management and denial analysis
- Knowledge of California Medicaid (Medi-Cal) billing rules
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
