Responsibilities
- Process and verify high-volume supplier invoices accurately and within tight deadlines using Sage 50cloud and Excel.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies or queries promptly.
- Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including matching POs to invoices and coding transactions.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns to HMRC on a monthly basis.
- Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all accruals and prepayments are accounted for.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor master data and payment schedules.
- Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to resolve payment issues and improve process efficiency.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role within the UK.
- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and VAT regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Sage, Xero, or SAP preferred).
- Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and macros.
- Experience handling BACS and Faster Payments systems.
- AAT Level 2 or 3 qualification or equivalent accounting experience.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
