Responsibilities
- Process and verify invoices from suppliers in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring compliance with company policies and purchase orders.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or queries promptly.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable ledgers using Sage 50 and Xero.
- Prepare and process payments via BACS, CHAPS, and online banking systems.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures, including accruals and prepayments.
- Liaise with internal departments and external vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues.
- File and archive invoices and supporting documentation according to company protocols.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in an Accounts Payable role (minimum 2 years).
- Strong working knowledge of accounting software, specifically Sage 50 or Xero.
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.).
- AAT Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent financial qualification) is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to spot errors and discrepancies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
