Responsibilities
- Manage Financial Records: Oversee daily bookkeeping operations, including accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
- Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations and account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Tax Preparation: Assist in the preparation of federal and state tax returns and ensure all filings are submitted on time.
- Compliance: Monitor compliance with internal policies and external regulations, including SOX and internal audits.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency using financial software.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the finance team and cross-functional departments to support budgeting and forecasting efforts.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or CMA certification is a strong plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to handle high volumes of data with precision and a keen eye for detail.
- Remote Work: Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment with strong self-discipline.
