Responsibilities
- Manage Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in strict accordance with GAAP standards.
- Oversee General Ledger: Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly and reconciled daily.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Lead the AP/AR processes, including processing invoices, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring timely client collections.
- Ensure Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations and internal financial policies.
- Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and implement automated solutions for greater efficiency.
- Budget Management: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and perform variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is required.
- Certification: CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CPA-eligible status is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate or accounting firm setting.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage; strong working knowledge of MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros).
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across remote teams.
- Integrity: Strong ethical standards and the ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
