Responsibilities
- Manage General Ledger: Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare complex monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards, providing clear analysis to stakeholders.
- Tax Compliance: Coordinate with external auditors and tax preparers to ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Reconciliation: Perform thorough bank reconciliations and inter-company account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the annual budgeting process and develop monthly forecasts to support strategic decision-making and resource allocation.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve the efficiency of the finance department using modern tools.
- Payroll Support: Assist with month-end close procedures, including the verification of payroll data and accruals.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree or CPA certification is a strong plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial analysis within a corporate environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to spot errors and ensure high data integrity.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial managers effectively.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of US GAAP and Florida tax laws.
