Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end accounting cycles including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closes
- Prepare and analyze financial statements ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and HMRC regulations
- Lead budgeting processes and variance analysis for departmental financial planning
- Oversee tax compliance including VAT returns, corporation tax, and payroll taxes
- Implement process improvements to enhance financial reporting efficiency
- Collaborate with auditors during external examinations
- Mentor junior accountants and support team development
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- ACCA, CIMA, or ACA qualified or equivalent professional certification
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience in a UK-based environment
- Advanced proficiency in Xero, QuickBooks, and SAP financial systems
- Expert knowledge of UK tax legislation and regulatory requirements
