Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports.
- General Ledger: Maintain the general ledger by recording daily transactions and ensuring accuracy of account balances.
- Reconciliation: Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements monthly to ensure data consistency and detect discrepancies.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process invoices, manage accounts payable schedules, and ensure timely collection of receivables.
- Compliance: Ensure all financial activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations and company policies.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Audit Support: Assist external auditors during annual audits and prepare necessary supporting documentation.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree (MBA) preferred.
- Certification: CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in general accounting or financial analysis.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, Sage, or similar ERP systems; strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to spot errors and ensure data integrity.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and tax regulations.
