Your Impact
As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing daily financial operations, managing complex accounts, and mentoring junior staff members. Your expertise will directly influence our ability to deliver accurate financial reporting and maintain our reputation for excellence in the Albuquerque business community.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full-cycle accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including the Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss statements, to support management reporting.
- Perform monthly and quarterly bank reconciliations and intercompany account reconciliations.
- Assist in the annual audit process by providing necessary documentation and schedules to external auditors.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and assist with tax filings as required.
- Monitor budget performance and prepare variance analysis reports to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Oversee the month-end and year-end close procedures efficiently.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA certification is highly preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to detect discrepancies and resolve complex financial issues.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams.
