Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting processes including GL entries, reconciliations, and month-end close procedures
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and variance reports for executive review
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable processes and implement process improvements
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, IRS regulations, and industry-specific financial standards
- Lead internal audits and coordinate external auditor communications
- Develop financial models and forecasts to support strategic decision-making
- Mentor junior accounting staff and optimize departmental workflows
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance with 5+ years of progressive experience
- CPA certification or active pursuit required
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and ERP systems
- Proven experience with multi-state tax compliance and reporting
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to numerical detail
- Strong written/verbal communication abilities for stakeholder interactions
- Experience in public accounting or mid-sized corporate finance preferred
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
