Responsibilities
- Oversee full-cycle accounting operations including month-end/quarter-end close processes
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX regulations, and federal tax requirements
- Lead internal audits and collaborate with external auditors
- Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting and budgeting
- Streamline accounting processes using ERP systems (SAP/Oracle)
- Mentor junior accountants and optimize team workflows
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years progressive accounting experience in public/private sector
- Expertise in financial reporting, reconciliations, and audit compliance
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, QuickBooks, and ERP systems
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced environments
- Experience with government contracting or non-profit accounting a plus
