Responsibilities
- Manage monthly/quarterly financial reporting including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow analyses
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable processes and ensure accurate transaction recording
- Conduct bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance with meticulous attention to detail
- Assist in annual budget preparation and variance analysis for department heads
- Coordinate internal/external audits and ensure compliance with GAAP and SOX requirements
- Implement process improvements to enhance financial reporting efficiency
- Mentor junior accounting staff and cross-departmental financial initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with public/private sector exposure
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, SAP, and Microsoft Excel (VBA/macros)
- Demonstrated expertise in month-end close processes and financial analysis
- Strong understanding of Nebraska tax regulations and federal compliance standards
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with attention to accuracy and deadlines
- Excellent written/verbal communication abilities for stakeholder reporting
- Proven ability to lead accounting projects and process optimization
