Responsibilities
- Manage General Ledger: Oversee the daily operations of the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate, complete, and recorded in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze complex financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Month-End Close: Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all adjustments and reconciliations are completed within deadlines.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Monitor and manage AP and AR workflows, resolving discrepancies and ensuring timely vendor and customer payments.
- Compliance & Audits: Assist in internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and ensuring full regulatory compliance.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for process optimization and implement best practices to enhance the efficiency of financial operations.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior accounting staff and provide training on accounting software and procedures.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree or CPA certification is strongly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a mid-sized to large organization.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks or Xero, and expert-level skills in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs).
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP) is a plus.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to detect errors and maintain high standards of accuracy.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of federal and state tax regulations.
