Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze complex financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes with accuracy and timeliness
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable cycles and general ledger maintenance
- Conduct detailed variance analysis and financial forecasting
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX, and Illinois state tax regulations
- Lead audit preparations and coordinate with external auditors
- Implement process improvements to enhance financial reporting efficiency
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting or corporate finance
- Expert proficiency in QuickBooks, SAP, and Microsoft Excel (including advanced functions)
- Demonstrated knowledge of Illinois tax codes and financial regulations
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication abilities for stakeholder reporting
- Proven experience with audit preparation and compliance documentation
