Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, balance sheets, and profit/loss reports
- Manage accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and general ledger maintenance
- Conduct reconciliations for bank accounts, investments, and intercompany transactions
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, IRS regulations, and Kentucky state tax requirements
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes with accuracy and timeliness
- Develop and implement internal controls to mitigate financial risks
- Collaborate with auditors during quarterly and annual reviews
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public/private sectors
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and ERP systems (SAP/Oracle)
- Expert knowledge of GAAP, tax compliance, and financial reporting standards
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder reporting and team collaboration
- Proven experience managing month-end closing processes
