Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
- Manage end-to-end accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoicing, payments, and collections, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
- Perform detailed bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations to maintain data integrity.
- Assist in the preparation of financial audits, tax returns, and government reporting requirements.
- Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws.
- Implement and improve internal controls and financial processes to mitigate risk and enhance efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support business planning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong preference for candidates with remote work experience.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros).
- Deep understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote setting.
