Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the general ledger (GL), ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
- Perform comprehensive month-end and year-end close procedures to prepare accurate financial statements.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts to ensure data integrity.
- Assist in the preparation and filing of federal and state tax returns, including 1099s and sales tax reports.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to streamline processes and improve internal controls.
- Prepare budgets and forecasts to support strategic decision-making for clients.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a remote or corporate environment.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA candidate is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work independently.
