About the Role:
As a Remote Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our clients. You will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations—all from your home office.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, on a monthly basis.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts to ensure all transactions are recorded correctly.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial audits and tax preparations.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring invoices are paid and payments are collected in a timely manner.
- Generate detailed reports for management to aid in strategic decision-making.
- Stay up-to-date with changing accounting standards and tax regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a remote or hybrid setting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and tax compliance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
