Responsibilities

  • Process Payroll: Execute the weekly and bi-weekly payroll cycles for over 200 employees with 100% accuracy using ADP Workforce Now.
  • Tax Compliance: Prepare and file federal, state, and local payroll tax returns (Form 941, W-2s, 1099s) on a timely basis.
  • Timekeeping Management: Review and validate timesheets, leave requests, and overtime calculations to ensure adherence to labor laws.
  • Employee Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries, resolving discrepancies and answering questions regarding pay stubs and deductions.
  • Benefits Administration: Assist in the coordination of employee benefits, open enrollment, and new hire paperwork.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate personnel files and payroll databases in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline payroll procedures and improve efficiency within the finance department.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on payroll processing experience.
  • Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in payroll software (ADP, Paychex, or Ceridian) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Human Resources preferred; Associate degree or equivalent experience accepted.
  • Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of FLSA, wage and hour laws, and payroll tax regulations.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to spot errors before processing.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff.
