Responsibilities
- Process Payroll: Accurately calculate and process bi-weekly and monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring timely disbursement.
- Compliance Management: Ensure all payroll activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations, specifically Texas labor laws.
- Tax Administration: Prepare and file quarterly and annual federal and state tax reports (Form 941, W-2s) on time.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate payroll records, tax filings, and employee files in compliance with audit requirements.
- Problem Resolution: Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, deductions, and employee inquiries promptly and professionally.
- System Management: Manage payroll software (ADP, Paylocity, or similar) and ensure data integrity across all modules.
- Reporting: Assist in month-end and year-end close processes by providing payroll reports and variance analysis.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years of hands-on payroll processing experience in a corporate environment.
- Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of payroll software such as ADP, Paylocity, or Ceridian.
- Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Human Resources; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of FLSA regulations, wage and hour laws, and tax requirements.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors and ensure 100% accuracy in data entry.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff and tax authorities.
- Integrity: High level of discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive financial data.
