Responsibilities
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for all employees using ADP Workforce Now, ensuring accuracy in hours, wages, and deductions.
- Administer garnishments, tax levies, and child support orders in accordance with legal requirements.
- Prepare and review payroll reports for management, including variance analysis and tax reconciliation.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding paychecks, deductions, and timekeeping issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including W-2 and 1099 preparation.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with FLSA, FICA, and state-specific labor laws.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to resolve payroll discrepancies and update employee information.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in payroll processing, preferably using ADP or similar payroll software.
- Strong working knowledge of federal and state payroll tax laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables) and HRIS systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex payroll concepts to non-financial staff.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPP) is a plus but not required.
