As the Payroll Clerk, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees, ensuring that every paycheck is calculated correctly.
Responsibilities
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll using [Software Name], verifying all timesheets and attendance records for accuracy.
- Calculate payroll deductions, including federal, state, and local taxes, as well as garnishments and benefits contributions.
- Maintain precise payroll records and files in compliance with GAAP and internal control policies.
- Prepare and reconcile payroll reports, including general ledger entries and variance analysis for management review.
- Assist with the administration of employee benefits, including open enrollment and leave of absence tracking.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay stubs, W-2 forms, and payroll discrepancies in a professional and timely manner.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in payroll processing, payroll tax, or a related accounting role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and experience with payroll software (ADP, Paychex, or SAP).
- Strong working knowledge of federal and state payroll tax laws, FICA, FUTA, and ACA regulations.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial data with the utmost confidentiality and discretion.
