We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to join our dynamic finance team in San Antonio, TX. Responsibilities
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for all employees using [Software Name] or ADP, ensuring accuracy in gross pay, deductions, and net pay.
- Prepare and distribute paychecks, direct deposits, and provide pay stubs to employees in a timely manner.
- Reconcile payroll tax reports, including Form 941, state unemployment taxes, and W-2 statements.
- Process payroll-related inquiries from staff regarding pay discrepancies, time off, and benefits deductions.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports related to payroll expenses.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including timecards, exemptions, and tax forms.
- Ensure compliance with local San Antonio and Texas labor laws and company policies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing, timekeeping, or a related administrative role.
- Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks Payroll) is required.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables) and Word.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to detect and correct errors quickly.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex payroll information to non-finance staff.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and handle sensitive financial data with confidentiality.
